Delawareans for Medical Marijuana are rejoicing, among others, over the state Senates votes in favor of legalizing medical marijuana. Their mission is to educate others about how beneficial medical marijuana treatment can be for those with debilitating conditions or stomaching the effects of chemotherapy.
Delaware would be joining 15 other states and D.C. with pending medical marijuana legalization. All that is needed is the Governor?s signature for final approval and it expected that he will sign.

DOVER, Del.???The state Senate has given final approval to a bill legalizing medical marijuana in Delaware. The legislation cleared the House last week after previous Senate passage, but House lawmakers added two minor changes that required Senate approval.
The Senate voted 17-to-4 on Wednesday to approve the revised bill, which now goes to Gov. Jack Markell for his signature.
The bill would allow people 18 and older with certain serious or debilitating conditions that could be alleviated by marijuana to possess up to six ounces of the drug.
Under the bill, qualifying patients would be referred to state-licensed and regulated ?compassion centers,? which would be responsible for growing, cultivating and dispensing the marijuana. The bill allows for one not-for-profit compassion center in each county within a year of its passage.
