Eliminate Your Trash Can's Wafting Odor with a Base of Kitty Litter [Clever Uses]

Kitty litter was designed to take the smell out of cat poop, so it's no surprise that it's effective elsewhere. We've already mentioned that you can use it to deodorize your shoes, but if you've got a smelly garbage can it can help there, too.

Personal finance blog Wisebread suggests that a base of kitty litter in your trash can will absorb the unpleasant scent of your trash. All you need to do is sprinkle a few tablespoons at the bottom of the can and you'll be good to go. Just remember to toss it out with the trash each time so you're not accumulating weeks and months of garbage odors.
