globalEDGE Blog: Finding Business Success in Western Europe ...

As economic globalization continues to make foreign markets more accessible, opportunities for small businesses to export abroad remain on the rise. In response to the ongoing global recession, the United States federal government has recognized the importance of small business owners, and the crucial aspect they play in a successful economy. Stemming from the government?s National Export Initiative, many small businesses have stepped out of American markets and found success through exporting abroad, such as the Patton Electronics Company.

The Patton Electronics Company is a producer of network access and connectivity products based in Baltimore, Maryland. Since the boom of the World Wide Web in the early 1990s, the company has branched out in and experienced rapid growth in the technology industry since expanding into British and Western European markets. Doug Barry, an International Trade Specialist of the U.S. Commercial Service, recently sat down with Bobby Patton, co-founder of Patton Electronics, to discuss his company?s exporting success and future prospects for small business owners looking to expand internationally. To read the interview in its entirety, please view the International Trade Administration article!
