Bracing for Big Weather Changes Thursday

After Monday?s active weather in our northwestern counties, Tuesday should remain storm-free for all of North Texas. ?There is a very slim chance of an isolated storm well west of the DFW area. ?But not expecting much this evening.

NTX Rain Chances

We?re keeping an eye an a pretty potent upper level storm system anchored over the Rockies this afternoon. ?It is forecast to push east tomorrow and Thursday and will help trigger thunderstorms here and throughout much of the Central Plains. ?It will also bring much colder temperatures for the end of the week.

KTVT Street Level

The weather will remain quiet for the first half of the day Wednesday, but by afternoon we will see a few isolated storms over North Texas. ?There will be randomly placed over the area, so it?s hard to say exactly where we?ll see them. ?Some of these storms could be briefly severe Wednesday afternoon.

NTX Rain Chances1

We?re going to have to wait for a strong cold front to push southward Wednesday night into Thursday morning to see our best rain and thunderstorms chances locally. ?So you?ll more-than-likely need an umbrella or rain gear Thursday morning.

NTX Rain Chances11

By Thursday afternoon, the line of storms should be pushing into East Texas.

NTX Rain Chances111

Backing up to Wednesday, there is a enhanced threat for tornadoes and very large hail across Northwest Texas and much of central Oklahoma. ?Our severe weather chances will not be as high until late Wednesday night. ?The main threats then for us will be quarter size hail and very gusty winds.

Severe Risk Day 2

By Thursday, the severe weather concerns shift into the eastern half of North Texas and much of Louisiana and Arkansas.

Severe Risk Day 3

Temperatures on Wednesday will be very warm again. ?Breezy and humid as well.

NTX Tomorrows Highs

Check out the difference in temperature on Thursday! ?It is going to feel like winter on Thursday with wind chills in the 40s! ?Brrrr!

NTX Tomorrows Highs1

After Thursday, the weather improves quite a bit. ?It will be cool for the end of the week, but sunny and pleasant. ?Check out Thursday night and Friday night?we should see lots of temperatures in the 30s. ?Another chance of rain early next work week.
