Are you an email hoarder? A new app can unearth forgotten photos buried under piles of email messages.
Lost Photos, a free desktop app, retrieves?photo?from most popular email services, including Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, .Mac and MobileMe. All the action takes place in a neat window where you can scroll through your finds and share to Facebook and Twitter or email to a friend. The photos are stored in a single file for each email account for future access.? ?
Lost Photos pulls photos from your sent, received and any files you've set up for organizing email like travel and family. The app does not search spam or trash, Josh Segall, a member of Lost Photos founding team Space Inch, told TechNewsDaily. ??
The only problem we encountered while installing the app was a series of offers from unfamiliar toolbar and search engine companies that wanted in our Web?browser.?
Segall explained that they opted to keep the app free and show installation offers rather than in-app ads. In a follow-up email, Segall said that based on TechNewsDaily's input, the company decided to limit the offers to ones just from AVG, a well known antivirus company and AOL. Now you won't be bombarded by annoying offers and can get to the fun of finding old photos much more quickly. ? ?
Segall said that the team is already working on the next version that will add Hotmail (now being made over into?Outlook.com?by Microsoft) and let people search their iPhones and Android phones for forgotten photos. He said they will also expand Lost Photos' sharing options so folks can pin to Pinterest and post to Google+. ?
Lost Photos is available for Windows at?www.lostphotosapp.com?and in the Mac App Store.
